Forestry mulching explained in plain language: how the machine works, what it leaves behind, and when it beats hauling or burning.
Forestry mulching uses a powered mulching head on a tracked carrier to grind brush, vines, and small trees into chips that stay on the ground. You get cleared, walkable terrain without loading every stem onto a trailer.
What stays / what goes
- Undergrowth and saplings → mulch layer
- Select trees can be avoided or targeted depending on your plan
- Large stumps and heavy dirt work are outside a pure mulching scope (we will say so)
Benefits for NC lots
Less smoke than burning, less haul cost than full debris removal, and a mulch blanket that can reduce immediate erosion. It is our primary method for raw land, lots, trails, and fire breaks across Cumberland and Hoke counties.
